We’re Madee and Mel, the founders of LOS PILLOWS. We are business partners, best friends and big time lovers. We’ve spent the 4+ years of our relationships growing individually and together, working on becoming the best versions of ourselves (because that’s what the right person makes you want to do). The last three years, the universe has mixed up a bitter cocktail of unprecedented “era’s” leaving the sense that almost nothing is certain and almost everything is overwhelming. This has left us with a few critical takeaways about ourselves (personally and professionally), our society, and our households. The thing that has become a top priority for us over this period is, the home.

We freaking LOVE being home. Some may call it “being in your 30’s” but Mel and I really reexamined our life/lifestyle in 2020 when the pandemic hit. We, along with our beloved but spoiled little dog Leon, moved into our first place together and quickly began curating, cozy-ing up, cleaning out the clutter and ultimately made home the only place we wanted to be (sometimes problematically so lol). We see home as a reflection of the individual(s) and mentally/emotionally/physically we truly believe there’s no better investment that making a home base that feels like, well… home. It’s the era of taking pride in the meaning of home– pride for spending more time in and the vibe we create there. It’s where we work, rest and recharge, its where we spend time with our loved one’s– it’s our safe haven.

Increased time at home has served to make us very aware of what is useful and joyful in our home, and what is simply not. We weren’t looking to start a home goods brand but when you find a product that’s as functional as it is fashionable and is useful literally every single day, well– you go for it. After a series of over-thoughtful nights, a seriously questionable hand-sewn prototype and a whole lot of biased nitpicking standard throw pillows– Los Pillow was born.

Beyond style and comfort, we consider what it means to be wholly purposeful. Since essentially the start of our relationship we have been humbled and surprised at every turn and clawed our way to the (mostly) peaceful existence we live today. One of the fundamental values in our home is mental health.

One thing we absolutely love about a pillow is that it’s there for the lazy Sunday’s, the sick days and the sad days– we strive to bring you a little extra happy on those days. But we also know from experience that sometimes a great pillow is not enough. Which is why we had to institute a more meaningful element to our brand, Los for the Lows.
